Here is our St. Patrick's Day craft this year. It is fun and easy.
Supplies:
- Green & White Construction Paper
- Safety Scissors
- Glue Stick
- Foamy Stickers (any kind - they are just for decorating)
- Markers or Crayons (just for decorating)
- Draw on a green sheet of construction paper a clover shape (three hearts connected - one on the top and the other two on the sides). This is the hardest part. Remember it doesn't have to be perfect.
- Cut out the clover. This is a great opportunity for your toddler to practice cutting along a curved line.
- Cut 4 long strips of green paper (these will be the arms and legs). This is another great chance for your toddler to practice cutting lines.
- Cut out of the green construction paper 2 small circles (eyes), 2 small rectangles (teeth), and 1 boxy hat.
- Cut out of the white construction paper 1 big mouth, 2 bigger circles (eyes), and a bigger boxy hat.
- Glue the green circles onto the white circles, and then onto the shamrock man.
- Glue the green teeth onto the white mouth, and then onto the shamrock man.
- Glue the green hat onto the white hat, and then onto the shamrock man.
- Fold the long green strips like an accordion, and glue the end of each strip behind the shamrock man as legs and arms.
- Let your child decorate the shamrock man with stickers, markers, and crayons.
If you aren't feeling too crafty or are short on time Here is a cute leprechaun coloring page from Family Fun that you can print and color.
How cute is this Green Breakfast Recipe that we found over at parents connect. This serves not only as breakfast but also as a craft, because your kids get to paint their toast with green milk. This looks like a lot of fun! Click here for the full recipe and description.
